MFA in Children’s Literature: Hollins University
Knowing nothing about writing or publishing, I decided to find a grad school program at a university. Still working full-time, I chose a highly respected program that suited my schedule: Hollins University, a private university in Roanoke, Virginia.
Founded in 1842, Hollins is one of the oldest universities for women in the United States. A gorgeous campus nestled near the Blue Ridge Mountains, it provides a lovely setting for academic and creative pursuits. I thrived at Hollins, and I was even asked to be the Writing Coach my last summer.
In addition to its writing program, Hollins also offers a top-notch certification in illustration. Several talented classmates pursued both options.
In my next post, I will share specific classes and projects that helped me shape my thoughts as a writer.
