Journals and Binders and Boxes
Being new to the world of writing, I had no idea what I was doing, but I jumped right in. I haven’t figured out what my writing process is at this stage, but so far it involves lots of travel, interviews, research, an MFA in Children’s Literature, postgraduate work, writing workshops, along with organizing notes, and managing STUFF.
And believe me when I tell you that organizing the piles of STUFF I’ve accumulated as I delve into the world of Peter Pan and Betty’s role in that legacy overwhelms me. I took an online workshop with Candace Fleming, and she showed us her collection of large plastic bins she uses to hold all her books and notes and STUFF for each writing project. I’m not at the bin stage yet, but I can see a bin in my future.
At the moment, I keep a journal of my travels related to my research, and I also have a four-inch binder of notes, pictures, lobby cards, etc., a Scrivener research page, and a box of Betty Bronson paraphernalia I’ve collected. I will be using these resources to create entries for this blog as I find my way into Betty’s story.
